Join us at Jandana Ranch for a fun get together with lots of horses, pony bingo, friendly goats, information about Natural Horsemanship and Dressage using Natural principles. July 10 10:00-12:00 | Advice for the Prospective Horse Buyer: Did you know that 80% of first time horse owners sell their horse within the first year? Many topics will be covered such as the following: Why do you want a horse? What is your knowledge level now? Do you have a knowledgeable support person? Are you committed to a long-term decision? Do you have the time? Are you fit? Do you have a proper location for humanely keeping a horse? Do you have a safe riding environment? Etc, etc! | $25 |
See following dates for July and August | Horsemanship Day Camps: Max 6 Min age 9 years At Jandana Ranch we practice Natural Horsemanship. Natural Horsemanship is about learning how to communicate with horses from the horse’s point of view. Force, manipulation and mechanical devices are not part of this process. The skills taught will allow the participants to be able to safely handle a horse on the ground and on the back. And be able to build a partnership with the horse based on trust, respect and leadership. All of the horses at Jandana Ranch have been carefully trained and screened so that you and/or your child will have an educational experience in a safe environment. Each day will offer 2 lesson sessions as well as stable sessions involving care and feeding, first aid, veterinarian care, tack fit and care, costs etc. Hopefully we will be able to fit in some crafts and maybe a splash fest or two! June 26,27,28 Friday , Sat, Sun Must be booked by May 1 August 27,28,29 Must be booked by June 1 October 1,2,3 Must be booked by Aug 1 | Ladies Horsemanship Experience: (The Ladies weekends were such a success in 2009 that this year we are offering 3!) No experience necessary, (maximum 6) 6 hours of riding, 2 night’s accommodation. Horses, fresh air and relaxation and in a quiet, mountain setting! Arrive after 3:00pm and settle yourselves into your lake view cottage. Demonstration and orientation with your horse Friday evening. The next morning begins with a lesson in Natural Horsemanship followed by a ride into the hills. Wine and cheese get together at the ranch house that evening. The second morning takes you to another beautiful location on horseback to enjoy the wonders of the high country. Coffee and snacks on the trail both days. | Price per person: $295.00 |
