In 1992 Janice and Dave decided to make a change in their lives. With the birth of their daughter, Daena, in 1990, the decision was made to quit their good jobs, drop benefits, pension plans, RSP’s and sell their nice little farm in Bradner, BC to build a ranch of their dreams in the beautiful mountain country of Pinantan Lake. Sharing their dream with travellers, horsemen, children and adventure seekers is the icing on the cake and the fuel to keep their ranch a place of inspiration, education and fun. Dave’s past included forestry consulting work for Reid Collins and Associates and Pretty’s Timber of Harrison mills. Janice was a teacher for the Abbotsford School District.
Jandana Ranch became a most successful guest ranch, offering experiences of nature, horsemanship, family time and offering a special place of harmony, peace, empathy and friendship difficult to find on our busy planet. Guests from all over the world visited our beautiful home. Not only people benefitted from our ranch. Over 60 horses lived out their lives at Jandana . Many of these horses were re-homed to us because of difficult training issues, age, health problems and other reasons. each horse was introduced to herd living, given a natural life and introduced to Natural Horsemanship principles. All of these horses helped teach other folks and became wonderful animals on the trail. Jandana was their last stop.
